A group of high school kids who would rather be in school than outside? That can can only mean something is seriously wrong.

In the trailer for This Is Not a Test, that something is a Zombie Apocalypse. In it, Olivia Holt (Heart Eyes) and her friends take refuge in their high school while the everyone outside does their best to fend off hordes of the undead.

In This Is Not a Test, “Sloane (Holt) and a small group of her classmates who take cover in their high school to escape their suddenly apocalyptic hometown. As danger relentlessly pounds on the doors, Sloane begins to see the world through the eyes of people who actually want to live and takes matters into her own hands,” according to the movie’s logline.

After the high school gets infiltrated by the walking dead, the teens realize they have to go outside after all. “We have to do things we don’t want to do if we’re going to make it,” one student tells the others as they prepare to run for safety.

Adam MacDonald (Backcountry, Pyewacket) directed from his screenplay based on Courtney Summers‘ 2012 young adult horror novel of the same name.

Froy Gutierrez (The Strangers), Corteon Moore (From), Carson MacCormac (Clown in a Cornfield), Chloe Avakian (Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy), and Luke MacFarlane (Bros) also star.

Distributor IFC premiered This Is Not a Test at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival last October, where it received positive reviews and will open exclusively in theaters on February 20th.
