Tinker Bell just needs faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust – and a contract for a new live-action Disney+ series.

The streamer is developing Tink as a dramatic series from creators Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter. It will be a live-action series based on the J. M. Barrie character first appearing in the 1953 Walt Disney adaptation of Peter Pan.

It’s not the first time Disney has attempted to make Tink; the project went into development back in 2015 with Reese Witherspoon in mind to play the lead. But nothing ever came of that, even after it went back to the drawing board in 2021.

Disney’s Gary Marsh is serving as executive producer, and apart from that, not much is known, including who will portray the main character. Developing the story of Peter Pan’s fairy gal pal, famous for her petulant jealousy, as a drama (if that turns out to be the case) is an interesting choice.

We will, of course, be updating you as more information becomes available.
