Penn Badgely is back in the murder game.

The star of Gossip Girl and You will headline a new series based on the Benjamin Stevenson novel Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, coming to Prime Video.

Badgley will play Ern Cunningham, a “mystery-writing expert” who heads to Vermont for a family reunion “to welcome his brother Michael home from prison – the same brother Ern helped convict,” according to the show’s logline. “When a frozen body appears and a snowstorm traps everyone inside, the deaths begin to mount. Everyone in Ern’s family has already killed someone -either by accident or otherwise.”

Badgley played a serial killer for five seasons on Netflix’s You, and will be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy You Deserve Each Other with Meghann Fahy and NDA with Rachel Zegler.

David Hemingson (The Holdovers) will serve as showrunner and executive producer, and Fifth Season and Made Up Stories are the production houses. Author Ben Stevenson will also produce Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone and expressed his enthusiasm for the project in a statement.

“I am blown away by the vision and enthusiasm everyone has for bringing this book, and Ernest Cunningham, to the screen,” said Stevenson. “Penn perfectly captures Ern’s clueyness and cleverness, and David has brought bags of wit and heart to the script.”

No other casting information is available, and a release date has not been set as of now. Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone is the first book in a series featuring the character of Ern Cunningham; the other titles include Everyone on This Train is a Suspect, Everyone this Christmas Has a Secret, and Everyone in this Bank is a Thief.
