High Alert: ‘Obsession’ Star Inde Navarette to Headline and Executive Produce ‘The Waffle House Index’ Movie

Inde Navarette was in one of the biggest non-superhero movies of 2026, recently joined the X-Men, and will now star in a sci-fi thriller based on how a chain restaurant indicates the severity of a disaster.
Obsession star Inde Navarette, who will play Rogue in an upcoming X-Men reboot, will now star in The Waffle House Index for Apple Original Films.
Based on a script written by Andrew Nunnelly, it will be set at the titular hash joint, which is the namesake of a disaster indicator scale during severe weather incidents, specifically hurricanes – one that even FEMA uses.
If it’s business as usual at the Waffle House (green alert!), you can rest assured that the storm’s not that bad. If all they have is scrambled eggs and a three hour wait, that’s a yellow alert. And if the Waffle House is closed? That’s a red alert so get your affairs in order.

Nunnelly’s script, which was featured on the 2025 Black List, a list of the best unproduced screenplays according to Hollywood executives, centers on a Waffle House waitress who is having a bad day which gets exponentially worse thanks to a stranger with a gun, a mass flood, killer crocodiles, a nuclear explosion, a magical bunker under the Waffle House, and aliens.
Louis Paxton will direct, and Plan B Entertainment will produce. They currently have Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma in theaters. Navarette will serve as Executive Producer on the project. No other details are known at this time.
