‘South Park’ episode trailer

The bad boys from Colorado are doing it again.

After the South Park Pandemic Special last fall scored the highest ratings for the show in seven years, Stan, Kyle, Cartman and the gang went into hibernation. No new episodes were released after that one.

Now, nearly six months later, there will be another hour-long special episode of the Trey Parker/Matt Stone animated comedy.

The new hour-long special titled South ParQ – The Vaccination Special will, in true South Park-style, address some of the major events that have been headlining the news recently.

The official blurb for the episode reads: “The citizens of South ParQ are clamouring for the COVID-19 vaccine. A hilarious new militant group tries to stop the boys from getting their teacher vaccinated.”

New militant group is code for…well, in case you didn’t notice the intentional misspelling of South Park, all of the show’s social media accounts have been rebranded to add the extraneous Q in South Parq.

The first Pandemic Special episode, which showed how Randy Marsh brought the coronavirus to the US and examined how social isolation is affecting children’s emotional development, will air before the new episode.

The actual Season 24 episodes of the long-running series has been on hiatus since the pandemic forced production to close and there is no premiere date set for it yet.

South Park airs on Comedy Central and is available to stream on HBO Max.
