It’s Official: Rob Zombie Shares First Look at His ‘Munsters’ Cast Outside Their Mockingbird Lane Mansion
When you look at the picture, you can almost hear the theme music.
Director Rob Zombie shared a photo of the main cast for his movie The Munsters (working title), a remake of the 1960s sitcom about friendly movie monsters trying to make it in suburbia.
The post, on his Instagram page, officially confirms that Jeff Daniel Phillips will play Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie will be Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck will be Grandpa Munster. The message beside the picture reads “Since Halloween is rapidly approaching I thought it was the perfect time to MEET THE MUNSTERS! Direct from the set in good old Hungary I present Herman, Lily and The Count sitting in front of the newly completed 1313 Mockingbird Lane.”
Zombie recently revealed that the 1313 Mockingbird Lane set where he is filming in Hungary had been built from scratch to imitate the original, which was shot on the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles.
Back in June, Zombie announced that he would be writing and lensing the film, which will follow a family of benign monsters who relocate from Transylvania to the American suburbs. The film is a production of Universal Studios’ 1440 Entertainment division.
Zombie has been sharing photos and updates from the Munsters set for months now, but this is the first image of cast members in character and in their costumes. Jorge Garcia, Richard Brake, and Cassandra Peterson are also rumored to be part of the movie’s cast, however, their roles haven’t been officially announced just yet.
Although the sitcom it’s based on was a family-friendly production, it has been announced that the film will be rated R. No release date has been announced yet.
