How many villains did you count?

In the new, long trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, we get a better look at all of the trouble Peter and his friends will face – and who is causing it.

While the trailer does not resolve the mystery of whether Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return to reprise their roles as Spider-Man from previous iterations of the franchise, it does show the first footage of Jamie Foxx’s new Electro, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, plus the Sandman from Spider-Man 3 and the Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man. Add in Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and you have 5/6 of what might be the Sinister Six on board.

If the movie ups the count to include six nemeses, keep in mind that there is a rumor floating around that Tom Hardy’s Venom will appear in the film, if perhaps only in a post-credit sequence.

It also shows two of Spider-Man’s new suits in the film, one so-called integrated suit and his black and gold suit, which seems to give Spidey some of Doctor Strange’s magic capabilities.

The film, of course, picks up where Spider-Man: Far from Home left off – with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) outed as Spider-Man, and on the hook for Mysterio’s supposed death. Peter goes to Doctor Strange for help, and Strange’s spell to make the world forget about Peter Parker backfires, opening a rift that allows villains from other Spider-Verses to infiltrate Peter’s world.

After causing the chaos, Doctor Strange basically leaves it to Peter and his pals to undo the damage, telling them to “Scooby-Doo this crap.” But can they?

The rest of the cast remains consistent from the last outing: Zendaya is also reprising her role as MJ, Jacob Batalon is back as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei is Aunt May, Jon Favreau returns as Happy Hogan, and Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong play their characters from Doctor Strange. Jon Watts is back on board directing his third installment in the Holland series.
