‘The Boys’ is streaming on Amazon Prime

If you’re a fan of The Boys, you are probably still reeling from the season two finale, and are in no way ready to even think about season three spoilers, so we aren’t going to give you any.

Just kidding! Of course we’re here to spill and dish and such. Here’s what we know: The Boys creator and showrunner Eric Kripke revealed in a social media Q&A that you can look forward to seeing two characters that were MIA during the second season.

The first is Teddy, who was Madelyn Stillwell’s son who last appeared in the season one finale, and whom Kripke affirmed would show up in season three. The next is Ryan, Homelander and Becca Butcher’s child who was taken away at the end of last season.

Kripke said Ryan “kind of represents all that’s good about Becca and Butcher”, and says that Butcher (Karl Urban) will keep tabs on him and the two will be interacting. But all that’s good won’t stop the “crazy amounts of rage about what happened to Becca”, said Kripke. Homelander (Antony Starr) is still on Butcher’s hit list, “so trying to balance those two sides of his personality is sort of the big struggle for him in season three.”

Cindy (Ess Hodlmoser,) who uses her telekinetic powers to crush people and who was last seen escaping from the Sage Grove Center, will reappear not far from there to wreak more havoc.

“Cindy’s out there man, as dangerous as ever,” Kripke said. “Look, when you’re running a show it’s just always smart to just plant little landmines everywhere that you can go back to and use.”

So what won’t you see? Fans of the comics know that when Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) is introduced in the comics, he so badly wants to join The Seven that he sleeps with their leader, Homelander, thinking it’s part of the audition. That didn’t make the cut for the show, however.

“There isn’t going to be a Soldier Boy/Homelander having sex scene,” Kripke said. What there will be, he said, is the Herogasm.

“There will be a Herogasm in season 3. You’ve earned it, you deserve it, and you’re gonna get it.”

The Boys season two wasn’t censored, so when you see the Vought-sponsored, drug-fueled, sex-crazed event in the third season, at least that part of the source material will be honored.
