If you have always wanted to know what classic disco songs performed by popular country artists would sound like, boy, are you in luck. You are probably also a little weird.

We kid, we kid. Not about the concept: Disco Country is now a thing. Barry Gibb has teamed up with some of the biggest names in bluegrass and country music to present reimagined versions of some of the BeeGees greatest hits.

Gibb duets with artists like Jason Isbell, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and Dolly Parton to perform countryfied versions of songs like “Jive Talkin'” and “How Deep is Your Love” on Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Volume 1.

In a statement released by the Capitol Records, Barry Gibb said, “from the first day we stepped into RCA Studios in Nashville (the very place where Elvis, Willie, Waylon, Roy, the Everly Brothers and so many other legends made their magic) the album took on a life of its own.

“I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with Dave and all the artists who stopped by. They were all incredibly generous with their time and talent. They inspired me more than words can express. I feel deep down that Maurice and Robin would have loved this album for different reasons. I wish we could have all been together to do it…but I think we were.”

Greenfields will drop January 8th. If you need more BeeGees in your life before then, catch the soon-to-be-released documentary How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, which premieres December 12th on HBO. Directed by Frank Marshall, it features never- before-seen archival footage of recording sessions, concert performances, TV appearances and home videos. Expect to see new footage of Barry and archival interviews with his late twin brothers Robin and Maurice, and chats with musicians Eric Clapton and Justin Timberlake, music producer Mark Ronson, singer Lulu, and record company executive Bill Oakes, among others.
