Cher Horowitz spend too much money on clothes? As if!

Thanks to the upcoming SB LVII, Alicia Silverstone is revisiting her iconic Clueless character, now wearing an updated version of her classic yellow plaid suit, in an ad for Rakuten, an online shopping app. In the commercial, which also features Elisa Donovan, Silverstone recreates the debate scene from the film.

In a teaser for the commercial, the scene opens with a classroom of students chattering amongst themselves. A school bell rings, the iconic yellow plaid emerges into frame and Cher strides down the aisle, holding one shopping bag in each hand. She reaches the front of the classroom and sets them down, then the song “Alright” by Supergrass from the original soundtrack begins, and Silverstone says, “Don’t bug, Your girl is back.”

The commercial itself takes off from there, with Silverstone as Cher saying “I used to be pretty clueless about shopping,” before Donovan, in character as Cher’s rival Amber, quips, “Among other things.”

The 30-second version of the ad can be seen on Sunday, February 12th, during the championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. You know the game we mean.

Designer and Friend-of-Silverstone Christian Siriano, who appears in the ad, updated the yellow plaid suit, created for the film by Mona May. According to The New York Times, Siriano modernized the ‘90s look by using a different plaid pattern, cropping the jacket, ditching the cardigan and making the pleated mini a bit more grown-up.

“I think we were really riding a fine line,” Silverstone, 46, told the Times. “Because everyone wants it to be this elevated, sophisticated, adult version — but then also, everyone’s totally obsessed with it staying the same.”

The rest of the ad sees Silverstone try on several of Cher’s iconic outfits from the film, showing off her high tech-powered closet, gigantic column-laden (dating back to 1972!) Beverly Hills home, classic white Jeep — now electric, but still involved in a fender bender — and more.

Silverstone told Variety that her character was the perfect choice to rep the shopping app.

“Rakuten came to me with this idea, and I thought it was really clever,” she said. “When I think about Cher and about how she’s film’s most historic shopaholic, the idea that she would be able to use this app is the greatest hack ever, getting cash back on all your shopping. I feel like she would want everyone to know that.”

Donovan, who played Amber in both the 1995 movie and the TV series, which ran for three seasons beginning in 1996, easily slips back into character for the ad.

“I have to say it was, without doubt, surreal,” Donovan tells Yahoo Entertainment about filming the ad, adding that Clueless cinematographer Bill Pope returned to do the ad. “They recreated the set to a T! From what was written on the board to our stands that we were speaking in front of, and we just laughed. There were moments where I looked over at Alicia, and I just felt like, ‘What is happening? Where are we?'”
