For anyone who wears glasses and has wondered what they would do if they were to break at exactly the wrong time, this film is for you.

Unseen, coming to Digital and On-Demand in March, takes that premise and gives it the worst-case scenario treatment. In the thriller, per the official logline, two women form an unlikely connection when Sam (Jolene Purdy, WandaVision), a gas station clerk, receives a misdialed call from Emily (Midori Francis, Dash & Lily), who is running from her murderous ex-boyfriend in the woods. Having lost her glasses in her escape, Emily must rely on Sam’s eyes using the video call in order to survive.

That’s just the beginning of the trouble for Sam and Emily, of course, as Sam must commandeer a phone from a customer played by Missi Pyle (Dirty John), who is decidedly not a willing participant in Emily’s rescue mission, and before she knows it, Sam is also in jeopardy, albeit from behind the safety glass of her cage at the convenience store.

Unseen was directed by Yoko Okumura (The Bold Type) who from a screenplay penned by Salvatore Cardoni and Brian Rawlins. The film also stars Michael Patrick Lane and Nicolas X. Parsons.

The film was produced by Blumhouse Television and MGM+ and is part of their deal to produce eight original films together. Alexander Kruener, Jeremy Gold, Chris McCumber, and Jason Blum served as executive producers.

Unseen will be released on March 7th before making its way to streaming on MGM+ a few months later in May.
