‘Loki’ Season Two Will Feature Ke Huy Quan’s MCU Debut as the TVA Tries to Reset the Timeline
You’ll see a lot more of Ke Huy Quan in the new trailer for the second season of Loki than you will of its big bad, Kang the Conqueror.
The image of Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, pops up briefly, and we see some of the footage from the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania post-credits scene featuring the original iteration of the multi-versal villain. Kang is said to appear in half the episodes, despite the actor’s alleged bad behavior. (Majors was arrested in New York in late March in what police described as a domestic dispute. His trial is set for early August.)
But there are much more important things to focus on in the trailer, such as the addition of Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan and Blindspotting’s Rafael Casal to the cast. Quan plays OB, a sort of repairman/wizard whom Mobius turns to to help with Loki’s annoying and dangerous “time slippage.” Casal’s role has not been announced.
According to Marvel, “Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius (Owen Wilson), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”
The series, which returns to Disney+ on October 6th, also stars Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Neil Ellice. No word yet on whether last year’s breakout character, Alligator Loki, will return for another season.
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw, and Kasra Farahani will be directing this season from scripts by head writer Eric Martin. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Eric Martin, and Michael Waldron are the executive producers, with Trevor Waterson serving as co-executive producer.
