Strike Hard, Strike Fast, Strike Over: ‘Cobra Kai’ Kicks Off Production of Final Season With Possible Late 2024 Premiere
Are you ready to say goodbye to Cobra Kai?
Whatever your answer, the final season of the karate-action dramedy is now in production, so the end is near. Netflix released a teaser trailer to amp up fans of the Karate Kid spinoff who have been waiting a long time for season 6.
Cobra Kai’s fifth season aired in 2022, and production on the sixth season was scheduled to resume in 2023, but the WGA strike, which lasted for nearly five months, put the writers, and thus the crew and actors, into a chokehold.
But according to the video, which features show stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove, Xolo MaridueƱa, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, (and many more), the most famous karate dojo in Southern California is now open for business.
Macchio and company teased some exciting show developments (but gave away nothing), but fans can at least see which of their favorite kung fu fighters are returning for the show’s swan song.
In the teaser video, some of the cast call the upcoming installment “a banger,” while other cast members say the final season will be “bittersweet.” There are promises that the action will be both bigger and badder, and Zabka says he’s ready to down some Coors Banquets, the signature drink of his character Johnny Lawrence.
Throughout the video, the actors show off the martial arts training they’ve been getting and new weapons like battle axes and katanas are brandished.
While no date for the show’s final season premiere is known, there is a strong possiblity that the first episode could hit the streamer by the end of this year.
