In Bloody Axe Wound, it’s a case of like father, like daughter, even when dad is a serial killer.

“While some dads fix toilets, my dad terminates teens,” says the main character in the trailer.

RLJE Films released a trailer for the comedy-horror film from Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton Morgan on Monday. The Burton-Morgans are producing Bloody Axe Wound via their Mischief Farm banner. The film was written and directed by Matthew John Lawrence.

The film’s synopsis reads, “Abbie Bladecut (Sari Arambulo) is a teenager torn between the macabre traditions of her family’s bloody trade and the tender stirrings of her first crush, Sam (Molly Brown). In the small town of Clover Falls, Abbie’s father, Roger Bladecut (Billy Burke), has built an infamous legacy by capturing real-life killings on tape and selling them to eager customers, but as Abbie delves deeper into the grisly family business, she begins to wonder if it’s time to take the family tradition in a new direction.”

Eddie Leavy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also star in the meta-comedy.

In the trailer, Abbie tries to convince her father to let her get involved in the foundering family business, but she balks when he insists that one of her kills must be her new love.

“Offing Sam just doesn’t feel right,” confesses Abbie. Her dad counters, “you can’t let you emotions cloud your judgement.”
