The Doctor Meets The Nurse: Trailer for Ncuti Gatwa’s 2nd Season Intros New Companion, Animated Villains
The 15th Doctor has found his second companion.
The BBC and Disney released an extended trailer for Ncuti Gatwa’s second season playing the title role in Doctor Who, and offered a look at what he and his new companion Belinda Chandra would be facing.
Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, introduces herself as The Nurse upon meeting The Doctor, and he soon realizes that this is not their first meeting.
“There is something already connecting us,” he tells her as we get a glimpse of Belinda from episode 3 of Gatwa’s first season as The Doctor. Sethu played Mundy Flynn, a soldier on a war-torn planet who encountered the Timelord when he was helplessly standing atop a landmine that would blow if he moved off.
Belinda agrees for a turn in the Tardis, but returning her to Earth gets a bit complicated, and will take the entire season from the looks of it. Their journey together brings them face to face with a killer carnivorous skeleton, undersea wonders, a murderous cartoon called Mr. Ring-a-Ding voiced by Alan Cumming, the usual assortment of threatening robots and soldiers. They also find themselves at the Interstellar Song Contest, which is like Eurovision on a galactic scale, much to their delight.

“You’re Scooby Doo,” says Belinda, after encountering yet another mystery.
“Honey, I’m Velma,” The Doctor replies.
This season also brings back Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday, and the characters of Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson), and Bonnie Langford (Mel) will also return.
Russell T. Davies remains as the showrunner for this season of Doctor Who, which debuted back in 1962 on the BBC. Now co-produced by Disney, it can be streamed on Disney+ in the states. The next season debuts on April 12th.
