The youth is out there.

Fountain of Youth, a new adventure movie from Apple TV+ and starring Natalie Portman and John Krasinski, looks and feels a lot like an Indiana Jones adventure, minus the Nazis and chilled monkey brains.

In the film, “two estranged siblings, Charlotte and Luke Purdue (Krasinski and Portman) partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality.”

And who wouldn’t want to live forever? While anyone knowledgeable about current events might argue against such a thing, in the movie’s timeline, Charlotte and Luke and their team are willing to go to the ends of the earth to take a dip in the waters of eternal youth.

“There’s a power beyond any of our comprehension,” Luke teases of their mission. “One story, five continents, dozens of cultures, and over a thousand years.”

Fountain of Youth is directed by Guy Ritchie and written by James Vanderbilt and produced for Skydance Media, and stars Eiza González and Domhnall Gleeson as fellow Fountain-seekers, though whether they are working with or against the Purdues is TBD. Also starring are Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo and Stanley Tucci.

With locations from London to Rome to Cairo and a story that “spans five continents, dozens of cultures, over thousands of years,” Fountain of Youth looks to be a fascinating travelogue as well as an opportunity for costume designer Loulou Bontemps to show off Portman, Krasinski and the rest of the cast in a stunning array of desert adventure-chic couture.

Fountain of Youth will debut on Apple TV+ on May 23rd.
