Not At All Nice: ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ Reboot Cast Grows as Ruby Modine Joins Slasher Santa Tale

Christmas is going to be a little scarier this year.
Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) has been cast as Pamela in the reboot of Silent Night, Deadly Night. She joins Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends, The Monkey) who will play Billy, the lead, as announced Monday.
Modine appeared in the Happy Death Day sequel, and also starred in 2019’s Satanic Panic and 2023’s Fear. In November 2024, a “reimagining” of the original was announced. to be produced by Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting. Michael P. Nelson (Wrong Turn) will both write and direct.
This holiday horror will be a reimagining of director Charles E. Sellier Jr.’s 1984 slasher classic, Silent Night, Deadly Night. The story follows Billy Chapman, a young boy who witnesses the murder of his parents at the hands of a man dressed as Santa, only to grow up and become a killer himself when the Christmas holiday triggers a psychological breakdown that causes him to don a Santa suit and punish the “naughty,”

The original spawned four sequels. The first two, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 and Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out!, are about Billy’s younger brother Ricky becoming a serial killer. The next two, Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation and Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker have no connection with the characters from the previous films, telling a different Christmas-themed horror story.
A loose remake of the film called Silent Night and starring Jamie King and Malcolm McDowell was released in 2012.
The new Silent Night, Deadly Night does not have a release date yet, but is expected to be ready in time for viewing around Christmas of this year.
