Reason to Believe: See Jeremy Allen White as The Boss in Springsteen Biopic ‘Deliver Me from Nowhere’ Trailer
As Bruce Springsteen’s longtime confidant and manager Jon Landau explains in the Deliver Me from Nowhere trailer, “What he’s doing with this album is…repairing that hole in himself.”
The album is Nebraska, a moody, stark collection of songs Springsteen recorded on a 4-track machine in his bedroom using an acoustic guitar with minimal instrumentation. It was released in 1982 to critical acclaim, two years before he made the multi-platinum Born in the USA album.
The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White stars as Springsteen in the biopic based on the making of Nebraska, called Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere. Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) directs the story that follows Springsteen recording the tracks, including some flashback footage of his childhood, which served as inspiration for a few of the songs, and the subsequent release of Nebraska.

The story is based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere, which featured interviews between Springsteen and Zanes chronicling the making of the album. The title comes from a lyric in one of the album’s catchiest (and least depressing) tracks, “Open All Night.”
Deliver Me from Nowhere features Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug, Odessa Young as Bruce’s love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive Al Teller.

In another clip featuring Strong as Landau, he explains to a record executive The Boss’ rationale behind the change in pace from his previous hit albums. “Here’s what I want you to understand. This is not about either one of us. It’s not about the charts,” he says. “This is about Bruce Springsteen. And these are the songs he wants to work on right now.”
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere will hit theaters on October 24th.
