The mystery as to who will star in the film adaptation of the show Murder She Wrote has been solved.

It didn’t take much sleuthing: Jamie Lee Curtis told all while attending the Los Angeles premiere of Freakier Friday earlier this week. Curtis confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that she would be starring in the Murder, She Wrote reboot movie.

“Oh, it’s…” she said, pausing for effect, “happening.”

This puts an end to rumors swirling around the casting since December, when Deadline reported she was in talks to star in the project. Universal is producing the movie based on the 1984-96 TV series following Jessica Fletcher, the schoolteacher turned crime writer turned detective played by Angela Lansbury in the original series.

Lansbury won four Golden Globes and multiple Emmy nominations for her performance as Jessica Fletcher and reprised the role for four TV movies.

Despite the announcement, production on the reboot hasn’t started yet.  “We’re a minute away. But very excited. Very excited,” said Curtis. “But I’m tamping down my enthusiasm until we start shooting. I have a couple other things to hustle and then I’ll get to enjoy that work.” Curtis can be seen in the most recent season of The Bear on FX/Hulu.

The as-yet untitled film is said to be written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money) and produced by Lord Miller and Amy Pascal.
