2020 Bites Black Widow
Oh, Covid-19, is there nothing you won’t ruin? Movie theaters were closed for months, and when they finally reopened with would-be blockbusters like “Tenet”, and “The New Mutants”, lackluster attendance made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Now even the behemoth that is Marvel/Disney is giving up the ghost.
“Black Widow”, which already had its release delayed from May 1st to November 6th, will now (fingers crossed) hit theaters on May 7th.
This of course leads to a movie release domino effect, pushing back the opening for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks like “The Eternals” and “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
“The curse that is 2020 also affects other Disney properties, as Stephen Spielberg’s “West Side Story” will now bow in December 2021.
But there is hope (for now.) Pixar’s “Soul” is still slated to open in November and the Agatha Christie mystery “Death on the Nile” premieres in December.
And in non-Disney news, James Bond returns in “No Time to Die” on November 20th, if the SPECTRE of Covid-19 is vanquished.
