Grant Gustin may have retired from his CW superhero series, but he’s still got a little Flash in him.

The actor, who played Barry Allen for a decade on The Flash on The CW, appears as “Chief Performance Officer Seymour Roas.” in a new ad for MNTN, alongside Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds is the Chief Creative officer at MNTN, a company that helps brands create, launch, and monitor performance ads streamed over smart TVs and over-the-top (OTT) devices.

Gustin, as Roas, shares a lot of technical jargon about the platform, but is repeatedly interrupted by the Deadpool 3 actor referencing Gustin’s superhero show.

“That sounds fast,” he says, before asking, “Would you say people could see results…in a flash?” Gustin’s Roas never takes the bait. As the commercial ends, Reynolds quips, “You’ll always be my Barry.”

Gustin snarks back, saying, “You’ll always be my Hal, a reference to Reynolds’ character in his first foray into action hero movies, 2011’s The Green Lantern.

“That hurts, Seymour,” says Reynolds sadly. The Green Lantern flopped at the box office and was received poorly by fans of the genre. (Reynolds has, of course, moved on to bigger and better, by starring in the successful Deadpool movies.)

Reynolds is known for his sly television pitches, and for pairing up with his famous friends in commercial and television and film projects. He did an ad for his Aviation gin brand with Deadpool co-star Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine in the film (and in so many X-Men flicks.) And Reynolds teamed up with Rob McElhenney in a reality show that chronicles their purchase of the Wrexham Football Club in the UK.
