Gotta Buy ‘Em All: Pokémon Company to Offer “Life-Size” Plushies of All 8 ‘Eeveelutions’ – But the Price is a Jolt

Good news, Eevee fans! You can now pre-order plushies of your favorite Pokémon (as long as its Eevee) and its many evolutions.
But there’s bad news too; if you want to “catch ’em all,” prepare to fork over a lot of your precious cash.
To celebrate what it calls “The Year of Eevee” The Pokémon Company is releasing plush toys of Eevee, Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon (and the rest) and promises they are “Pokédex‑size.” Each Pokémon character has a predetermined range of its species height, weight, etc. within the game, so the stuffed versions will approximate that.

But their dimensions aren’t the only thing that’s oversized about these plushes; the price tag looks to be a little steep for these difficult times. While the Eevee figure, about the size of a small dog or large cat, can be had for a more reasonable $27 American, the Golden Retriever-sized Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon will set you back around roughly $308 each.
The Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon plushies are currently expected to ship at some point in the middle of November, while the Eevee will be out sooner, around the middle of June.
GameSpot.com tallied the combined cost of all the plushes and came up with a $3200 price tag for the set, noting that you could by several Nintendo Switch consoles for that amount of scratch.
As of Friday, only Eevee, Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon are available for pre-order on the Pokémon site, with the others to be added at a later date. And while the true-to-Pokedex-sized plushes are quite pricey, the site offers more reasonably-priced stuffies in more manageable sizes. Other “life-sized” figures are also available, like Gardevoir, Larvesta, Altaria, Porygon, and Lucario.
And for the seriously financially-challenged, the site has a selection of cute Pokémon keychains, so maybe one day you will catch ’em all.
