The Boys are back.

Of course, they aren’t boys anymore, but in the fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise that debuted in 1995, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence jump back into their roles as Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence), who investigate illegal narcotic activity in Miami.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die finds the duo banding together to prove the innocence of their former boss Captain Conrad (Joe Pantoliano), who is possibly dead but definitely implicated in string of crimes. They stumble onto a conspiracy that – you guessed it – goes all the way to the top and the duo become fugitives from the law themselves.

This is Smith’s first blockbuster movie since the Chris Rock incident at the 2022 Oscars. This is also directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah’s next chance at a guaranteed theatrical release after Warner Bros shelved Batgirl just before its planned debut in 2022. Chris Bremner wrote the script.

Adil & Bilall, as they are known in the credits, directed Bad Boys for Life, which was released just before the coronavirus pandemic emptied theaters, Thanks to that boost, BBfL became the top-grossing film of 2020. The two took over from Michael Bay, who directed the first two films in the series.

The film also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nuñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, and Tiffany Haddish.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die crashes into theaters on June 7th.
