Rosemary had a life before she had that infamous baby.

In Apartment 7A, Julia Garner (Ozark) will play a young Rosemary (maiden name unknown) before her marriage. The movie description reads, “When [Rosemary,] a struggling young dancer, suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame.”

The film is set in New York City in 1965.

Apparently Rosemary ignores all those red flags and trouble ensues. The movie also stars two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess (Home Before Dark) and Kevin McNally (the Pirates of the Caribbean film series), with a supporting cast that includes Marli Siu, Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.

Natalie Erika James (Relic) directed the film, which has already wrapped shooting. 7A is a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby, the 1968 horror classic that starred Mia Farrow as a young newlywed in Manhattan who, once pregnant, begins to suspect her neighbors are part of a cult that plans to use her baby as a ritual sacrifice. The movie was based on the book of the same name written by Ira Levin.

James wrote the screenplay along with Christian White and Skylar James. John Krasinski. Brad Fuller, Allyson Seeger, Andrew Form and Michael Bay are producing.

Garner is a Golden Globe winner for her work on Ozark, which aired on Netflix.
