Marvel wants you to be Pedro Pascal’s Valentine this year.

The superhero factory revealed the full cast of Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot in a pastel valentine that featured the images of Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. You can see the full image below.

Pascal’s casting is no surprise, but Marvel’s holiday announcement put an end to the rumor mill surrounding the other members of Marvel’s “first family” of mutant superheroes.

Fantastic Four is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25th, 2025, at least as far as we know. WandaVision director Matt Shakman is at the helm, shooting from a script by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, with help from Josh Friedman.

Pascal, of course, is already busy with two sci-fi/adventure franchises; his character in The Mandalorian is getting bumped up to a starring role in a Star Wars feature film, and he’s returning for a second season of HBO’s The Last of Us. Joseph Quinn was a casualty of the monstrous Upside Down on Stranger Things, and will travel to ancient Rome to appear in Gladiator 2, which also stars Pascal.

Kirby won an Oscar nom for Pieces of a Woman, and also appeared in 2023’s Napoleon and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One. Moss-Bachrach recently won an Emmy for his work on The Bear.

This film is the fourth attempt at getting the Fantastic Four onto the silver screen – and to resonate with audiences. Roger Corman shot a film for a 1994 release that never happened officially (though the film is available via less-than-scrupulous means. Also on YouTube.)

Fox and director Tim Story, having access to a larger budget, released two FF flicks, in 2005 and 2007, though both received a mixed response. Those two films featured Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, future MCU actor Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis as the Four.

In 2015, Fox attempted to revive the franchise under director Josh Trank with Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan (who would also get his MCU letter jacket in another film, namely the Black Panther series), Kate Mara and Jamie Bell donning the blue suits. That movie received bad reviews and did not burn up the box office.

A few years after that, Disney acquired Fox, thus opening the door for the Fantastic Four to enter the MCU. The character of Reed Richards, played by John Krasinski, was the first member of the team to appear on screen after that, although this Mr. Fantastic hailed from Earth-838, not ours, in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

There’s no word yet on who will be donning the mask and cape of the Fantastic Four’s chief nemesis, Victor Von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom. The Fantastic Four’ who’s mortal enemy has been seen in previous iterations played by Joseph Culp, Julian McMahon and Toby Kebbell.
