A image from the upcoming horror flick Nosferatu shows Bill Skarsgård (though he’s a bit blurry) and Nicholas Hoult in their return to monster movies.

Skarsgård of course, played Pennywise the clown in the 2017 reboot of It, as well as in the 2019 sequel, It Chapter Two. Hoult played the titular lackey of Dracula in Renfield earlier this year.

Nosferatu also marks the genre return of Robert Eggers, director of the eerie period horror The VVitch, the 2015 film that marked his feature film debut.

Since that film Eggers has directed the oddball drama The Lighthouse (2019) and the period adventure film The Northman in 2022. He wrote and directed Nosferatu.

This iteration of the classic tale of a vampire’s obsession with a young woman is the second remake of the 1922 German film, itself an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel. Shadow of the Vampire (2000) was a behind the scenes look and quasi-remake set around the making of Nosferatu (1922).

Alongside Skarsgård and Hoult, the cast for Nosferatu including Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe, who played fictional vampire/Nosferatu star Max Schreck in the 1922 film.

Eggers’ Nosferatu is due out in 2024.
