Lupita Nyong’o may take her warrior training from the MCU to the Quiet Place cinematic universe.

Nyong’o is in negotiations to headline Paramount’s upcoming spinoff movie A Quiet Place: Day One, due out in 2024. Nyong’o, who won an Academy Award for 12 Years a Slave, can be seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which debuts November 11th. She also starred in Jordan Peele’s Us and gave her voice to a character in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

The film is a spinoff of Paramount’s A Quiet Place, released in 2018, in which a family is forced to live in silence after the world is invaded by monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. It was directed by John Krasinski, who starred in it with his real-life wife Emily Blunt. It earned $340.9 million on a $17 million budget. Krasinski also directed A Quiet Place: Part 2 which was released in 2021 and earned $297.3 million.

Michael Sarnoski (Pig) will direct the film, which is based on an original idea from Krasinski. The film won’t be a sequel but a completely new story set in the same world, and Krasinski and Blunt have not been announced for the cast. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce.

The original Quiet Place franchise will have a third film, directed by Krasinski and due for a 2025 release.
