It’s time to get the gang back together for another big heist.

The entertainment trade papers were reporting Thursday that early talks regarding a new Ocean’s movie are taking place, but instead of director Stephen Soderbergh, David Leitch will helm the film.

Ocean’s 14 will star George Clooney in his role as Danny Ocean, and Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures will produce. Leitch directed Brad Pitt in Bullet Train, and the star is also expected to return. Matt Damon and Casey Affleck are also said to be among the cast.

Leitch also recently directed Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy, and Gosling is involved with another Ocean’s movie with Margot Robbie. The film, directed by Jay Roach, will reportedly be a prequel, or an “Ocean’s 11 tale” set in Europe in the 1960s.

Based on the 1960 heist film Ocean’s 11, which starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Angie Dickinson, 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven used the same story as the original: a crew of con artists, thieves, and specialists organizing a Las Vegas casino heist. Directed by Soderbergh, Ocean’s Eleven featured an ensemble cast including Clooney, Affleck, Damon, Julia Roberts, Pitt, and more. The film stole away with $450.7 million at the global box office over a budget of $85 million, and was critically lauded too.

Eleven was closely followed by Ocean’s Twelve in 2004, which was then followed by Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. Each subsequent movie expanded on the cast of the one before it. The three movies combined took in over $420 million domestically.

Ocean’s 8, with Sandra Bullock standing in as the titular Ocean, sported an all-female cast and was released in 2018. Ocean’s 8 was not directed by Soderbergh and is not considered an official sequel, though it was successful with both audiences and film critics.

Ocean’s 14 does not currently have a planned release date.
