Two big stars are ready to play another deadly game of Hide and Seek.

Filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known collectively as Radio Silence, announced Monday that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood are joining the cast of Ready or Not: Here I Come, currently in production in Toronto.

Here I Come is a sequel to Radio Silence’s 2019 hit Ready or Not, which starred Samara Weaver as a bride who finds out her in-laws have an odd – and often fatal – way of welcoming newcomers to the family. Weaving is returning for the sequel as Grace, the character she played in the original.

Character names for Geller (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Wood (Yellowjackets, The Monkey) are unknown at this time.

The rest of the cast includes Kathryn Newton, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, and director David Cronenberg. Plot details are scarce for the film, to be penned by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, who scripted the original.

Ready or Not grossed $57 million worldwide from an estimated budget of $6 million in 2019 and received mostly positive reviews.

Searchlight Pictures, which released both films, issued a statement about the sequel. Matthew Greenfield, President of Searchlight said, “we’re beyond excited to make another film with the phenomenal Radio Silence. With Ready or Not: Here I Come, we get to go on another ride with the amazing Samara Weaving, mix in awesome new voices, and bring audiences a fresh take that’s every bit as twisted and fun as the first one. This is for those who’ve been waiting, and those who didn’t see it coming.”

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett recently directed Scream (2022) Scream VI (2023), and were set to direct Scream VII before leaving the project, which will now be directed by Christopher Landon.
