Andrew Garfield fans: Sony’s social media team has heard your cries to cast him in his third solo outing as Spider-Man. They just can’t do anything about it… or can they?

Sony tweeted a faux trailer for the third movie starring Garfield as part of their promotion of the digital and Blu-ray release of Spider-Man: No Way Home on April 12th.

The clamor for a third Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie, of course came from Garfield’s appearance in the box-office smash No Way Home, where his Peter Parker was revealed to be just one in a multiverse of at least three versions of the web-slinging superhero, alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s iterations. No Way Home earned over $1.8 billion dollars worldwide, making it the sixth-highest grossing movie of all time.

Garfield last played Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider Man 2 in 2014. The sequel was met with mixed reviews and underwhelmed at the box office, despite making over $700 million worldwide.

Fans have been tweeting #MakeTASM3 since December, and while they are enjoying Sony acknowledging their requests, they probably won’t be satified with the studio only releasing a pretend trailer. Perhaps they will take inspiration from Zack Snyder fans, who rallied to raise awareness about Snyder’s cut of Justice League, which undoubtedly helped get it released.

Never underestimate the power of a vast and determined fan base!
