It’s Laurie Vs. Michael In ‘Halloween Ends’, The Final Chapter In The Decades-Long Battle
This fall, Laurie Strode will face off against her nemesis Michael Myers for the very last time.
Probably. The trailer for what is purported to be the last film in Blumhouse’s modern Halloween trilogy, Halloween Ends, dropped Tuesday, and it shows Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie facing off against Michael Myers, as she’s done in movie after movie since the first Halloween movie debuted in 1978.
The movie is directed by David Gordon Green and hits theaters on October 14th.
The modern trilogy began with 2018’s Halloween and continued on with 2021’s Halloween Kills, with the action shifting from Laurie’s secluded cabin, where she and her family set a trap for Michael, but failed to stop him, to the entire town of Haddonfield, Illinois, where the locals all ganged up on the unstoppable killing machine, only to be mowed down one by one.
Only Will Patton as Deputy Frank Hawkins, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and Andi Matichak as Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson are joining Curtis in the final film, which is set four years after the events of Halloween Ends. Still reeling from the death of her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), Laurie must take up arms against Myers after a young man is implicated in a brutal killing, which could only be the handiwork of Michael.
The trailer shows the run-up to the long-awaited confrontation between Laurie and Michael, juxtaposed with footage of John Carpenter’s 1978 original with shots of Laurie being choked, slammed, and stalked by Michael.
Curtis told People that wrapping up her character’s involvement with the left her feeling pleased, and thinks the audience will be just as .
“The last shot [filmed] was [part of] a night shoot and I was in a car — it was a close-up of me in the car. And when we got out of the car, it was 4:30 in the morning and there was the picture of my face on the screen,” she said.
“And I realized that was the last image of Laurie Strode after 44 years of portraying her,” Curtis adds. “Isn’t that amazing? And it felt very satisfying. I think people are going to lose their minds.”
