Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell are continuing their streak as being cast as Guys.

Gosling and Ferrell will team up for the action-comedy Tough Guys for Amazon MGM. If that title sounds familiar, it’s because Gosling previously starred in both The Nice Guys in 2016 and 2024’s The Fall Guy, while Ferrell headlined The Other Guys in 2010.

Despite the guy-friendly titles, the movies are not related. Instead, Tough Guys casts Gosling and Ferrell as a couple of unhappy crooks. “Fed up with being ‘disposable,’ [the] two henchmen break free from the criminal underworld and rewrite the rules as they abandon their ruthless boss and dodge the elite assassin on their trail,” goes the movie synopsis.

Daniel Gold wrote the script, but no one has been tasked with directing yet. Gosling, who championed the script and helped bring Ferrell onto the project. Gosling has another Amazon film in the hopper, Project Hail Mary due out in March of 2026.

Ferrell is also familiar with the studio; he starred in the recently released You’re Cordially Invited and will be featured in Judgment Day from director Nicholas Stoller. Ferrell and Gosling have worked together before; both starred in Barbie in 2023.
