Lone ‘Wolfs’: George Clooney and Brad Pitt Are Not NOT Partners in Crime in New Apple TV+ Movie
George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s new movie Wolfs could be called Ocean’s 2.
The two stars, who appeared together in the Ocean’s series and Burn After Reading and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, reunite in this caper film about two professional ‘fixers’ who must work together against their wills to clean up a high-profile crime scene.
In the trailer for the film, released on Wednesday, Clooney is hired to clean up the classic ‘dead body in the hotel room’ scenario. To his dismay, a second fixer played by Pitt shows up and despite their mutual animosity, their respective overlord(s) decree the two must work together.
When the dead body turns out to be not so dead, the two find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them could have predicted, including a runaway ‘corpse’.
Starring alongside Clooney and Pitt are Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) wrote and directed Wolfs. Clooney and Grant Heslov produced the film for Smokehouse Pictures, while Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner did the same for Plan B Entertainment.
Sony will release the movie in theaters on September 20th, and after the theatrical run it will stream on Apple TV+.
Clooney, speaking with Deadline, indicated that this film has already spawned talk of a sequel.
“We’re already talking about a sequel for this film…,” he said. “It was a great shoot and Jon is an extraordinarily talented guy who’s also really joyful. He loves what he does. We had a blast doing it and we’ve seen it. It’s an off the charts great film and it’s fun to work with Brad again. We had a really good time.”
