What if your social media clout could save your life?

Most of us (the author included) would be exiting this mortal coil if that were the case, so it’s lucky that the Skillhouse is (so far) only a movie. Produced by GenTV and starring real-life influencers Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Bryce Hall and Hannah Stocking, Skillhouse is a horror film about a “high-stakes social media nightmare” that blurs the line between reality and fiction.

The film follows “ten influencers [who] are lured into a sinister content house and forced to compete in lethal social media challenges — because in Skillhouse, clout isn’t just currency, it’s survival.”

Skillhouse is directed by Josh Stolberg (writer of Saw X, Jigsaw) and also stars Neal McDonough (Justified), McCarrie McCausland (The Originals), Leah Pipes, Caitlin Carmichael and former professional fighter Paige VanZant in her first film role since she rose to fame in the UFC.

Skillhouse is produced by GenTv founder Ryan Kavanaugh, along with Shane Valdez, Jackson and Brad Baskin.

Skillhouse won’t have to fight its way into theaters as Fathom Events is holding a one-night-only screening on July 11th.

In a statement, Kavanaugh said, “Skillhouse is more than just a horror film – the project is right for the times and breaks barriers by leveraging the power and appeal of influencers and immerses them into the story. GenTV is very pleased to work with the team at Fathom in creating a special theatrical engagement for this film.”

Skillhouse’s first eight minutes debuted on Gentv.com in 2024 and had more than 100 million views, a feat usually only achieved in films with $50 million+ marketing budgets.
