“Here’s a preview. Be warned: It’s intense,” Deetz says as she sits beside an old-fashioned television set.

That warning applies to two very different trailers released Thursday that highlight young Netflix actresses in peril.

In Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) plays Astrid, the daughter of Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, from the 1988 original. When Lydia’s father Charles dies, the two return to their family home in Winter River, where the threat of the demonic entity Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) that terrorized Lydia as a teen waits for them both, lurking in a model of the town that still stands in the attic

It’s not long before the everyone finds themselves in the Afterlife, both the living and the dead. Catherine O’Hara also reprises her role as Delia Deetz, and new cast members include Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Arthur Conti.

Tim Burton directs from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The story is by Gough, Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith, based on characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson.

In A Sacrifice, Sadie Sink (Stranger Things, Fear Street) plays Mazzy, a young girl visiting her father (Eric Bana) in Berlin and becoming embroiled in a cult that he is investigating. Bana plays Ben, a psychologist researching a cult to help the police determine if it is connected to a mass suicide. But before he realizes it, Mazzy herself is in danger.

“Don’t talk to strangers,” Mazzy’s new flame warns her in the trailer before introducing her to his “group.” The more Mazzy sees of Marting’s group, the more they try to separate her from her father, emotionally and physically.

According to the movie’s official description, “While (Ben) immerses himself in his work, his rebellious teenage daughter, Mazzy, becomes embroiled with a mysterious local boy who introduces her to the city’s underground party scene. As their two worlds head toward a dangerous intersection, Ben will need to race against the clock in order to save his daughter.”

A Sacrifice was written and directed by Jordan Scott, based on Nicholas Hogg’s novel Tokyo Nobody. The film also stars Sylvia Hoeks as Nina, Jonas Dassler as Marting, Sophie Rois as Hilma, Stephan Kampwirth as Max Aumann and Lara Feith as Lott. Bana exective produced along with Jonathan Saubach, Justin Alvarado-Brown, Kenji Isomura, Céline Dornier, and Frédéric Fiore, with Ridley Scott producing.
