Roar of the Greasepaint: In ‘Everything’s Going to Be Great’ Cranston and Janney Make a Go of Regional Theater
The show must go on, no matter what disasters present themselves.
In Everything’s Going to Be Great, award-winning actors Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney learn that first hand. The two lead a family of theater lovers (and one lukewarm tagalong) and make a go of the business of show in a new heartwarming family dramedy heading to theaters next month.

The official synopsis from Lionsgate reads, “Buddy and Macy Smart (Cranston and Janney) [lead] an unpredictable life in regional theater while trying to raise their radically different sons, Lester and Derrick. Through it all, Buddy pursues his unstoppable dreams, and Macy is left to pull it all together and keep the family afloat. As the family grapples with identity and belonging, they share a humorous and heartfelt journey of self-discovery, learning the power of owning your spotlight, no matter what stage of life you’re in.”

Steven Rogers (I, Tonya) wrote the script and Jon S. Baird directs. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Jack Champion, Simon Rex, and Chris Cooper co-star.
Everything’s Going to Be Great premieres at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival on June 9th and will take the stage in select theaters on June 20th.
