It’s reunion time for the cast of the Scary Movie franchise.

After sitting out the last iteration of the horror parody franchise, the news came on Friday that Regina Hall and Anna Faris would return for Scary Movie 6, which was announced last year.

In a statement released with the announcement, Hall and Faris said, “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again).”

Brenda and Cindy were first introduced in 2000 in the first Scary Movie and are the only characters to appear in every release, barring the last one.

There’s also a family reunion planned for Scary Movie 6 -all three Wayans brothers, Keenen Ivory, Marlon, and Shawn Wayans will be back together for the first time in 18 years to write an all-new original script for the series, co-penning the Miramax production with Rick Alvarez.

Keenen Ivory Wayans, who wrote and directed the first film and its 2001 sequel, will return as producer. Marlon and Shawn, who co-wrote and starred in those first two as Shorty and Ray, are also coming back.

In another statement, the brothers said, “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again,” the brothers shared in a statement. “This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago. We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again. We look forward to working with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring these laughs to theaters, where they belong. It’s a double reunion.”

Marlon Wayans has spoken publicly about disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein’s role in ousting the brothers from the franchise. “It was so toxic,” Marlon Wayans told Variety earlier this year. “The way the Weinsteins handled the business of ‘Scary Movie,’ I could write a ‘Scary Movie’ about it. We probably should have sued.”

The three Wayans have written the script and Michael Tiddes will direct.

Scary Movie 6 is scheduled to invade theaters on June 12th, 2026.
