Hope you know your Roman numerals.

The tenth movie in the Fast and Furious series of car racing and stunt driving movies has a name, and it is Fast X.

Yes, it’s a little basic, as titles go, but at least it’s not reminiscent of the top row of your computer keyboard (F9). It does lack the international flavor of the third chapter in the saga, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, nor is it as fun to say as 2 Fast 2 Furious, alas.

There’s still time for the Furious team to get more creative, as an eleventh movie has been announced. The Fast and the Furious: Chapter 11, perhaps? It’s got a built-in storyline where Dom and the gang are forced to reorganize their business debts and pay off persistent creditors.

Star Vin Diesel has been making casting announcements regarding the movie over the last several months, including the heroic additions of Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad). It’s also known that Jason Momoa will make his Fast and Furious debut as the big bad this go-around.

Also hitting the road are series regulars Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), and Tej (Ludacris). Fast X will include the return of Han (Sung Kang) and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel). Justin Lin is also back in the director’s chair on Fast X, which is the sixth entry he has lensed.

Still out of the family? Dwayne Johnson, who still seems to be publicly feuding with Diesel.

Fast X is likely to be released on May 19, 2023.
