The Ghostbusters (Old and New) Team Up To Battle The Most Chilling Supernatural Threat They’ve Ever Faced
What comes after Afterlife? A bone-chilling trip to New York City.
In the trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, we see the Big Apple plunged into a deep freeze – in the middle of summer.
Of course, something more sinister than global climate change is involved, so it’s up to the OG Ghostbusters, still in their NYC HQ, to battle the Death Chill, which as Ghostbuster Raymond Stantz explains, is a force so powerful it can crack bones and turn veins into rivers of ice.
“And the last thing you see is your own tear ducts freezing up,” Stantz continues. But Stantz, Venkman (Bill Murray), Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) and Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts) aren’t alone in this battle, as the Oklahoma branch of the Spengler family come to town to help.
Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace, who led 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, return for Frozen Empire, which was directed by Gil Kenan from a script he wrote with Jason Reitman. Also along for the ride are franchise newcomers Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim.
Frozen Empire is the latest Ghostbusters epic in a series that started with Ghostbusters in 1984, Ghostbusters II in 1989, the female-led Ghostbusters in 2016, and Afterlife from 2021.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled to hit theaters on March 29th.
