Prime Video has offering action and comedy in two original movies dropping this March.

On March 7th, the streamer releases Ricky Stanicky, a buddy pic that stars John Cena, Zac Efron and William H. Macy. The story follows Dean (Efron) and his childhood buddies, played by Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino, who have used their imaginary friend, whom they named Ricky Stanicky, to get out of trouble for more years than they can count.

About to be caught in the lie by their significant others, the guys decide to hire a struggling actor named “Rock Hard” Rod to portray their faux friends and save their collective hides.

Unfortunately, the fraudulent Stanicky fill-in proves to be too manic for the friends to control, and the expected hijinks ensue. Peter Farrelly directed the film, which was written by Jeffrey Bushell, Brian Jarvis and Jim Freeman.

Anja Savcic, Lex Scott Davis, Jade Badler and Heather Mitchell also star.

In Road House, premiering on March 21st, Jake Gyllenhaal steps into Patrick Swayze’s shoes for this “high-octane, adrenaline-filled reimagining” of the 1989 original.

Gyllenhaal plays Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter who “takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems,” per the movie’s official synopsis.

Road House was directed by prolific lenser Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow), who said in a recent guest column in Deadline that he will be boycotting the SXSW premiere of the film, which he said was supposed to have a theatrical release when he signed on with MGM to make the picture. After he signed, Amazon purchased MGM and the film was rerouted to streaming.

Jessica Williams plays Frankie, who owns a seedy club in the Florida Keys that could use a new bouncer – and protection from a hostile takeover by some shady characters. Frankie hires Dalton to protect the club from bad actors from both within and without, but as Frankie’s enemies get bolder, Dalton may find himself fighting for his life.

Road House was written by David Lee Henry and Hilary Henkin and was produced by Joel Silver. The movie also stars Daniela Melchior, MMA star Conor McGregor, Billy Magnussen, B.K. Cannon, Lukas Gage and Arturo Castro.
