If the Sanderson Sisters are back, Halloween can’t be far behind.

Disney dropped a teaser trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 1993’s Hocus Pocus, and it shows some meddling teenagers performing a ritual awakening the sleeping Sanderson sisters from their three-decade rest. (That’s a short nap for them – their first slumber lasted 300 years!)

Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Kathy Najimy) are returning for Hocus Pocus 2, which finds the trio facing off against two young girls who light the candle again. The cast of the sequel includes Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham along with Tony Hale and Sam Richardson from Veep, Doug Jones reprising his role as Billy Butcherson from the first movie, and Whitney Peak and Drag Race queens Ginger Minj, Kahmora Hall and Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté.

Hocus Pocus 2 takes place 29 years after the events of the original, and Winifred, Sarah and Mary are looking for revenge from their…untimely deaths. “Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve,” the movie’s logline reads.

The original Hocus Pocus told the story of three wicked sisters in Salem, Mass., who spent 300 years asleep before the lighting of the Black Flame Candle, which resurrects them on All Hallow’s Eve with a full moon in the sky. They face off against young Max Dennison (Omri Katz) and sister Dani (Thora Birch), who try to stop the witches from becoming immortal before the sun rises.

Anne Fletcher (The Guilt Trip) is directing the sequel, which was scripted by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics.) The movie premieres on Disney+ on September 30th, allowing you to enjoy it for the entire month of October.
