It’s game on again for fans of the Saw series.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures announced today that their billion dollar franchise has another sequel coming. The tenth movie in the series will open on October 27th, 2023 and will be directed by Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter director Kevin Greutert.

“We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love,” said producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules in a statement. “And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”

 In addition to the Saw films, Greutert has also directed the features Jessabelle (2014) with Sarah Snook and Visions (2015) with Isla Fisher.

The plot and casting for the new entry has not been revealed, but producers promise that the film will feature all-new “twisted and ingenious” traps, as well as a new mystery to solve. The studio promised the movie will “capture fans’ hearts, and other body parts.”

It’s also unknown whether the upcoming sequel will tie into the recent Saw spin-off Spiral, whcih starred Chris Rock and was tangentially related to the Saw series.
