Talk about a sugar rush.

In the teaser trailer for Eli Roth’s upcoming summer horror flick Ice Cream Man, the seemingly innocent town of Bayleen Bay turns into a slaughterhouse when a sinister soft-serve seller disseminates sweets that inspire mass slayings.

In the 30 second clip, we see the ice cream vendor’s truck approach the town, where families are engaged in typical wholesome summertime activities. But once the titular Ice Cream Man (Ari Millen, Orphan Black) starts selling his cool, creamy confections, the town’s tykes turn homicidal.

Interspersed with titles spelling out the familiar rhyme – I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream – the clip shows scenes of gruesome mayhem. We see possessed (and armed) children looming over sleeping parents, a girl making snow angels in a pool of blood, and a group of elementary school students holding down a woman as one of them takes a bat to her stomach.

Roth, Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, and Charlie Storey also star in the film, which was directed by Roth from a script he co-wrote with Noah Belson. Rap star Nas executive produces and the movie features music from Snoop Dogg.

Roth has directed horror movies like Hostel: Part II, The Green Inferno, and Thanksgiving and told Variety back in 2025 that he’s had the idea for Ice Cream Man for over 20 years.

“Studios were too afraid of my early drafts. Now’s the time to push the envelope farther than I ever have with what I think will be my most terrifying and insane film to date,” he said.

Ice Cream Man will start idling his truck in theaters on August 7th, 2026.
