Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman will be manning the broomsticks again next year.

The two will star in a sequel to 1998’s Practical Magic, which currently sports the working title Practical Magic 2. They will return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, descendants of a long line of witches.

In the first outing, the two had to find a way to end a curse that was killing any man they fell in love with. The plot for the next film is unclear, but may be drawn from author Alice Hoffman’s Practical Magic book series.

Warner released a short teaser, voiced by Bullock and Kidman, that read “Tooth of wolf and morning dew. Something old and something new. Let the spell begin to mix. Sept. 18, 2026.”

The first Practical Magic didn’t enchant too many viewers when it was released, but has since gone on to cult favorite status. At one point, Warner Bros. had a television series called Rules of Magic based on the film in the works for HBO, but that never went to series.

Susanne Bier is directing Practical Magic 2 from Akiva Goldsman’s screenplay. Goldsman co-wrote the first movie. Denise Di Novi produces alongside Kidman and Bullock. Though the production timeline yet unknown, Kidman mentioned in February that the sequel is “moving ahead rapidly.”

Practical Magic 2 will be summoned to theaters on September 18th, 2026.
