The character doesn’t have a name, but she just might be portrayed by Gal Gadot.

Variety is reporting that they have sources confirming that Gadot is close to signing on as the royal baddie in Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White adaptation, which is headed into production in 2022.

West Side Story‘s Rachel Zegler was cast as Snow back in January. The project will give Gadot a chance to play a less-than-heroic character, though perhaps in this story the character will be allowed to have more dimensions, a la Maleficent or Cruella, two recent Disney live-actioners that explored the back stories of its animated villains.

Snow White was Disney’s first animated feature, released in 1937. In it, the Evil Queen attempts to trick the innocent Snow White into eating a poisoned apple because she is jealous of her beauty. Always fishing for compliments, she is known to ask her magic mirror “Who is the fairest of them all?”

According to insiders, the live-action film will expand upon the story and and music from the original. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar- and Tony-winning duo behind La La LandThe Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen, will write new songs for the movie.

Gadot is next on our screens as an art thief in Red Notice, starring Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson, premiering in theaters November 12th. She is also currently working with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins on a movie about Cleopatra.
