Alien: Romulus is bringing back the franchise’s most popular character.

No, the trailer for the latest movie in the franchise doesn’t show Ripley. But Alien: Romulus is bringing back the greatest hits of the movie series: killer face-hugger and chest-burster Xenomorphs who hunt the human prey that discovers it on a derelict space station.

In the film, Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) plays Rain Carradine, one of a group of young colonists who find something nasty aboard the station as they are scavenging. The trailer features a scene of an alien that’s about to emerge from the chest of one of the colonists. The woman’s chest is lit from within offering an explicit view of the parasitic life form at work.

Alien: Romulus is directed by Fede Àlvarez (The Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), who co-wrote the film with Rodo Sayagues. Ridley Scott is producing. Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, David Jonsson, Aileen Wu and Spike Fearn also star in the film.

The film comes from an original idea from Alvarez, and takes place some 20 years after the events of Scott’s original Alien. Disney and 20th Century are offering a limited summer movie slate. but Alien: Romulus is one of the studio’s higher-profile movies.

Alien: Romulus bursts into theaters on August 16th.
