The Pop Culture Junkie Team has expanded! Joining the Junkies you already know and love, Shauna Trinidad and Nicole Eldridge, are Alexander Castillo-Nuñez and Hayley the Brave.

Alex has multiple fandoms – everything from reality television to dramas to comic book hero flicks. He was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Boston. He moved to Arizona in 2018, and is happy to be starting his family there.

A graduate of the Boston Arts Academy, Alex has been acting in theater and film for over a decade. Other passions include photography, poetry, and music. When he’s not being (in his own words!) an artsy fart, Alex partners with community groups nationwide to help increase equal voter access in communities of color and defend basic civil rights.

Regular listeners of the podcast will remember Hayley the Brave from the Cobra Kai episode when she joined the panel as a guest Junkie. Now she’s a full-time member, and we’re excited to have her input on all things awesome and nerdy.

Hayley was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Secondary Education, and earned her Master’s Degree in English through Northern Arizona University. She is a full-time teacher and mom who loves to read, write, work out, and cosplay in her spare time.

Hayley has hosted several panels at Phoenix Fan Fusion, and hosts her solo podcast, Thirty, Nerdy, & Thriving, covering all things geek and fandom. She is passionate about television, film, and music, and (in her own words) is proud to be a Pop Culture Junkie!
