Kathryn Hahn will star in a series spun off from the Emmy-winning show WandaVision. WandaVision was the first of Marvel’s television outings to air on Disney+ this year, and Hahn’s character Agatha was the main antagonist.

The show won multiple Emmys, including one for Hahn for best supporting actress in a limited series and another in the best original music and lyrics category for the song “Agatha All Along,” which was more than just a catchy ear worm: in the show served as a revelation that Hahn’s character was not who she appeared to be.

Variety reports that Hahn will reprise her role of in the series, which is described by sources as a dark comedy, though exact plot details remain under wraps. WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as the writer and executive producer on the project. This would be Schaeffer’s first project Schaeffer with Marvel since signing her overall deal with Disney and 20th Television.

In the sitcom-based world of WandaVision, Hahn started out playing the role of Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor. After a few episodes it was revealed she was the witch Agatha Harkness. In the Marvel comics and the series, Agatha’s back story has her living through the Salem Witch Trials and serving as a foil for Wanda, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch. In the finale of WandaVision, Wanda forces her revert to her Agnes persona, trapping her in fake sitcom town Westview.

Whether any WandaVision characters will be making a return (or the show will finally give viewers a look at Mephisto) is under wraps. There is no release date for the proposed spinoff.

The spinoff won’t be all we see of Agatha – Hahn will be reprising the role all across the MCU, in both streaming content and in movies under a larger deal she has made with the studio, sources said.

Hahn is also set to star in a limited series in development at Showtime centered on iconic comedian Joan Rivers and will headline the Apple series The Shrink Next Door. She will be featured in the Rian Johnson sequel Knives Out 2. Before WandaVision, she previously earned an Emmy nomination for her time on Amazon’s Transparent.
