Beyond All Recognition: Arnold Schwarzeneggar Is A Spy Coming Out Of Retirement To Partner With His Daughter in ‘FUBAR’
Netflix and Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s new series is ‘F*cked Up Beyond All Recognition.’
It’s actually called FUBAR, but if you’re hip to military jargon, you know what that stands for. Schwarzeneggar’s very first television series is based loosely on his action-comedy hit True Lies, and stars Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick).
According to the official description, “when a father (Schwarzenegger) and daughter (Barbaro) learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA operatives for years, they realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don’t know one another at all. Forced to team up as partners, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humor.”
Schwarzeneggar had nothing but good things to say about his foray into streaming.
“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies. Well, here it is,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement. “FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season. It’s been a joy to work with Nick [Santora, who created the series], Skydance and Netflix to give my fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for.”
Also appearing in the eight-episode series are Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, Gabriel Luna, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Barbara Eve Harris and Fabiana Udenio.
Schwarzenegger executive produces along with Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan and Skydance’s David Ellison. You can find FUBAR on Netflix beginning May 25th.
