Has She-Hulk: Attorney at Law been thrown out of court?

Officially, no, but star Tatiana Maslany said on a recent Twitch stream called Codenames Live! – The New Class that a second season is unlikely.

“I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget,” she joked, adding “Disney was like, ‘no thanks.'”

Created by Jessica Gao, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jen Walters, a 30-something lawyer, as she juggles her work and increasingly disappointing personal life. Jen, a cousin of Marvel Avenger Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), was infected with his blood, causing her to become a 6-foot-7-inch superhero when her emotions get the better of her. In the show’s first season, she faced a villainous influencer (Jameela Jamil) and a misogynistic billionaire (Jon Bass) who both sought to beat her.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law ran for nine episodes beginning in August of 2022. Marvel has not made any announcement on the show’s future yet. Marvel head Kevin Feige told the Hollywood Reporter in 2019 that following their appearances on Disney+, the charactesr of Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk would appear in future MCU theatrical releases – a prediction that has come true for Ms. Marvel, at least, who appeared in 2023’s The Marvels.

Creator Jessica Gao is ready to roll on a second season, telling Collider that “When I pitched the show, I already had an idea of where I would want it to go for another season and what the premise of that season would be. From the beginning, I had ideas of where it would go. But coming from TV, you can’t ever go into a first season show thinking you’re gonna get another season. You have to plan for the fact that this might be one and done, so you have to create a season that feels like it’s telling a complete story, and yet leaves the door open.”

Maslany said during the Twitch stream that she’s ready to go green again anytime. “I’ve got nothing going on. You can find me on Instagram, not posting,” she said. “I’ve got no job.”
